Udupi, Jan 11: Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed Miracles, new block of Milagres College, Kallianpur here on Monday January 11.   

All guests were welcomed to the rhythm of college band by the NCC cadets. Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza along with Milagres College principal Fr Fred Mascarenhas, Oswald and Doris Saldanha, inaugurated the new block. 

In his introductory address, principal Fr Fred said that it is a team work of their teachers and professors that has brought success to Milagres Education Institutions, Kallianpur since the past 43 years. He also thanked all the donors for their generous support to build the new block.  

Bishop Aloysius also felicitated the main donors of new building block College alumnus Oswald and Doris couple from Canada, building contractor and key workmen at the same occasion.  

Speaking on the occasion, main donor Oswald said that Milagres had immensely contributed for their early schooling, without which they would not have reached such a position in distant land of Canada.  Meanwhile, he hoped that Milagres becomes an autonomous university soon.  

Fr Baptist Menezes said that CBE is functioning under the leadership of bishop and the main objectives of board are imparting value-added education to the society. He also advised the students to follow 5 D’s - Decisions, Determination, Devotion, Dedication and Discipline in them. 

Alumnus Jayakar Shetty thanked his parents and his teachers, for imparting valuable that has enabled him to excel in banking career. Another alumnus Jerry Vincent Dias said that each student is expected to strive to excel in studies, in order to aspire for bright future in this competitive era.





























  

CBE secretary Fr Wilson D’Souza said that in the 21st century, CBE is trying to give the best of education through more than 350 of its institutions. Milagres is one of the best among all. Value-added education is the main objectives of the CBE, he said.  

Bishop Aloysius also presided over the stage programme held after the blessing ceremony.  

Episcopal vicar Fr Baptist Menezes, alumnus and Vijaya Bank general manager K Jayakar Shetty, Mandavi Builders managing partner Jerry Vincent Dias, Collegiate Education joint director professor T H Eranna, Catholic Board of Education (CBE) secretary Fr Wilson D’Souza, Kallianpur gram panchayat president Chandrashekar Poojary, correspondent Fr Marcel Saldanha and Milagres Pre-University College principal Sadashiva Alse among others were present on the dais.

    Congratulations!! to the Principal,staff and management for thier great hard work.This facility will enhance the students education and they can add more value. I was completed same college in the year 1992 that was the the Silver Jublee year of the college and I still miss my those days and álways I remember. Best wishes for every success.
