Mangalore, Jan 12: ‘Girija Kalyana’, the celebration of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi’s wedding as per Hindu religious belief, was held at Kudroli Gokarnanath Temple on Monday January 11.

The temple has become the second place to celebrate this ritual after Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.

The one-day celebration started with the installation of the idols. The worship was held with Vedic rites and devotees including women performed ‘pooja’ as per the tradition of Girija Kalyana.

Nearly 5,000 devotees gathered to witness this rare worship which is seen at the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Tamil Nadu only once a year.

Ramesh Kumar of Janatha Construction had organized the special pooja.

The man behind Kudroli Temple, former union minister B Janardhana Poojary, and the trustees of the temple were present during the pooja.

Fantastic SRI B. JANARDHAN POOJARY, you are creating "HEAVEN IN TULUNADU", which is "GUIDING LIGHT" to entire UNIVERSE, along with your colleagues. In TRETA YUGA (Ramayana) LORD RAAM (Incarnation of LORD VISHNU) worshipped LORD SHIVA at Southern bottom tip of INDIA which came to be known as SRI RAMESHWARA KSHETHRA. In KALYUGA SRI B. JANARDHAN POOJARY ( Another name of LORD VISHNU) worshipped LORD SHIVA, in PARASHURAMA SHRISHTI, in TULUNADU ,which came to be known as SRI GOKARNANATHA KSHETHRA.

Keep it up SRI B. JANARDHAN POOJARY, Don't listen to comments of people who are jealous. ( Soon there will be comments from people who are jealous, in daiji world. Even in those days there were Asur (Raakshas) who were jealous of LORD SRI RAAM & LORD SRI KRISHNA ). Just continue your work. "God bless you to do more work of this kind and even much more"
