Hope PM's promises are not hollow: Congress

New Delhi, May 12 (IANS): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package, the Congress said that the promise should not be a hollow one.

"Sincerely hope Rs 20 Lac Crore Package is not scripted with same pen which was used to make following promises of Giving everyone ,15Lac ,Cleaning Maa Ganga, Bringing back black money in 100 days, Transforming Varanasi into Kyoto and Ending terrorism with demonetisation "said Jaiveer Shergill in a tweet.

Prior to Prime Minister's address Rahul Gandhi released a video and said "Bharat Mata is crying as her children's are on road without food, government should send them home safely give money to them into their accounts and for employment a package for MSME sector should be announced."

Modi on Tuesday announced a massive financial package to revive the country's economy by announcing a total stimulus of Rs 20 lakh crore, or 10 per cent of the country's GDP.

This amount also includes the earlier packages announced by the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Addressing the nation for the third time during the lockdown, the Prime Minister said that it is now the time to make India self-reliant in every way.

Modi also talked about new infrastructure and systems for a quantum leap of growth.

It is a well known fact that until 2014, 80% of the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, other relief funds, donations, quasi-government NGO funds used to go towards ADMINISTRATION (you know what is administration) and ONLY 20% to the intended purpose with great fanfare.

You must have read/heard about the superficial surface hand pumps in several villages valiantly inaugurated by the boisterous politicians then!! Such like.

So, such crazy thoughts and sour grape syndrome lingers on!!!!

    @ Sanjeev Kamath,

Rajiv Gandhi had the courage to say the truth. That is the reason MNREGA was started by previous government so that money directly goes to the account of poor.

Now these funds are only on paper and nothing is reaching the people. Do you know how much money from PM Cares Fund has reached migrant labourers? How much money is spent on their transport including train travel? Everybody knows that PM Cares Fund is scam and the money will be used in next election.

People have understood the truth after this crisis. How the top man was sitting without helping the poor.

I still have my doubts. Till the money does not reach middle class people and small businessman like us. It calls for huge protest by Congress following all safety protocols.

One leader here from opposition should pronounce "Atmanirbharatha " first and then comment ...
After much coaching it will be like ..I think
    1.Baigan barthaa
    2.At Man Bharath aa
    3.At money bhara thaa....
    And such stuff.
First let these leaders learn grace, the way to address and deliver like our present PM.
Sitting in an arm chair and speaking with Right,Abbu,Subbu and also have that edited anyone can do.
    Learn to be positive first.

During their regime, 80% of the funds allocation used to go towards ADMINISTRATION EXPENSES (you know what that means!!) and only 20% towards the intended purpose / end use.

Naturally, the hangover lingers on even after 6 years with deep sour-grape-syndrome!!

It wasn't been easy for PM Modi to make this announcement. It is taking a lot of toll on him as you see him. After all haven't we all been enjoying all his past announcements and promises for listening pleasure. This too is another Hindi movie and monkey Ba'ath as if these are true nevertheless.
