9 more cases reported in Gurugram


Gurugram, May 15 (IANS): Gurugram administration has detected 9 more corona positive patients in different areas of the city on Friday.

With this, the total cases reached 179 including 89 active patients currently admitted in different hospitals of the district.

JS Punia, civil surgeon of Gurugram said: "6 cases appeared in Rajiv Nagar locality after they came in contact with high risk confirmed patients. Besides, one case each appeared in Gandhi Nagar, Basai enclave and Hari Nagar. They are also connected with confirmed Covid patients."

"They have been isolated in different government and private hospitals of the district and their houses are declared as quarantine homes. The family members are asked to stay inside for 21 days," Punia said.

Apart from Covid positive patients, 58 persons are under close surveillance of health officials in different quarantine facilities.

Gurugram district administration has taken samples of 9,281 suspected persons and 8,866 were negative while reports of 236 are still awaited.
