Two RPF jawans test Covid positive at Howrah station


Kolkata, May 15 (IANS): Two Railways Protection Force (RPF) jawans tested positive with Covid-19 symptoms in one of eastern India's major railheads Howrah railway station on Friday, police said.

RPF sources confirmed that two jawans were tested positive and admitted to the Railway Orthopaedic Hospital in the district. The two were deployed at the north post of Howrah station's old complex.

They stayed at the Golmohar RPF barrack in Howrah. About 20 RPF jawans were sent to institutional quarantine after the incident.

Sources said there is panic among other jawans who are carrying out duties at the station premises, especially after the special train services resumed to bring home people stranded in different parts of the country.
