COVID-19: Six new cases in Chhattisgarh


Raipur, May 15 (IANS): Six more persons tested positive for coronavirus in Chhattisgarh on Friday, taking the total such cases in the state to 66, a health official said. No coronavirus death has so far been reported in the state.

Five new cases were reported in Janjgir-Champa district and one in Koriya district. The samples were tested at the Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur.

"As per preliminary information, all of them recently returned from coronavirus-affected states but as of now it is not clear if they are migrant labourers," the official added. They have been hospitalised.

The active cases in Chhattisgarh are 10 as 56 patients have been cured and discharged. Four patients are undergoing treatment at AIIMS and are in stable condition, he added.

So far, 31,341 persons have been tested for coronavirus in the state.
