108 test Covid-19 positive, J&K's tally reaches 1,121

Jammu, May 16 (IANS): One Covid-19 patient died on Saturday as J&K recorded the highest single-day spike with 108 people testing positive for coronavirus. With this the coronavirus tally in J&K has reached 1,121.

The Covid-19 patient, who died at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar, belonged to the Budgam district.

Of the new cases, 22 belonged to the Jammu division, and 86 to the Kashmir division.

While 12 patients have died, 542 have recovered. There are 567 active cases in J&K with 70 in the Jammu division and 497 in the Kashmir division.
