Bhopal, May 17 (IANS): The corona tide continued to lash Madhya Pradesh with 195 new cases reported on Saturday evening and total tally touched 4,790. The health department bulletin said the cases have spread to 44 of the 52 districts.
Maximum number of cases were reported from Indore as 79 fresh cases were reported from the district followed by Burhanpur with 27 new cases, Khandwa with 15 fresh cases, Gwalior and Ujjain each reported 12 new cases, eight new cases in Bhopal and seven in Jabalpur. The number of cases soared as the third phase of lockdown is about to end.
Indore with 2,378 total cases, Bhopal with 954, Ujjain with 296, Jabalpur with 175 and Burhanpur with 149 are likely to stay in the red zone for some more time. There was a check on the death with four reported on saturday.
The health department said 2,315 persons have recovered completely in the state.
