From winning KBC to getting dream job, Usha has come a long way

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), May 17 (IANS): She was among the winners in the 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' last year and she is now preparing to become a government primary school teacher.

Usha Yadav, a resident of the Bhuska village in the Meja area of Prayagraj, is among those 69,000 candidates who are on their way to becoming an assistant primary school teacher.

Usha's husband is already a primary school teacher and the couple has a two-year-old child.

Talking to IANS, Usha said, "In 2019, I was lucky to get selected to the Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) and I managed to answer 13 questions and won Rs 25 lakhs. It was a huge victory for me, especially because I come from a rural background."

Recalling her experience, she said, "Mr Bachchan, perhaps, sensed my nervousness and put me at ease by talking about Prayagraj while the shot was being readied. When the show began, my full concentration was on the questions and their answers."

Usha said that she had her share of limelight when she won at the KBC. "Some channels came to interview, people came to meet me but after about a fortnight, things were back to normal and I was waiting for the job which has finally come," she said and added that winning the show gave her tremendous confidence.

Usha said that she is fond of reading and it was this that helped her in the game show.

"I always wanted to become a teacher and kept studying even after marriage. My dream has now been fulfilled and I am waiting to start teaching," she stated.
