No domestic flight bookings until govt directives, clarifies Air India

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, May 17: Air India on Sunday May 17 issued a clarification regarding media reports about resumption of its domestic flight operations amid the lockdown.

Air India in its clarification said that an internal mail had been circulating on WhatsApp, the contents of which were misunderstood and misrepresentated in various media reports.

"Air India flight bookings are currently closed and will resume after receipt of directions from government of India," the airline said.

"Commencement of commercial domestic/international flights is not in the purview of Air India," it added.

The airline urged passengers to follow official Twitter handles of ministry of civil aviation and Air India, and their websites for official announcements regarding resumption of flight operations.
