62 more test positive, J&K Covid-19 tally now 1,183


Jammu, May 17 (IANS): As many as 62 people more tested positive on Sunday, taking the total number of Covid-19 patients in J&K to 1,183.

A statement by the Information and Public Relations Department said that out of the 62, 16 are from Jammu division and 46 are from Kashmir division.

Out of the total 1,183 cases, 148 are in Jammu division and 1,035 are in Kashmir division. So far, 13 patients have died and 575 have completely recovered.

The number of active cases is now 595, out of which 86 are in Jammu and 509 are in Kashmir division.

Meanwhile, a 29-year old woman, who had tested Covid positive, died in the chest diseases hospital in Srinagar on Sunday.

Doctors are the hospital said she died of septic shock and had undergone multiple surgeries.

She belonged to Habba Kadal area of old Srinagar city.
