Bengaluru: Bus transport, salons to start from May 19, total lockdown on Sundays

Bengaluru, May 18: Bus transport that was stagnant for the past 54 days will start from Tuesday, May 19. The state government has given a go-ahead for BMTC, KSRTC, private, taxi and auto-rickshaw transport also. But all have to follow social distance rules.

The government has also permitted the opening all kinds of shops except malls, cinema halls and gyms. Only 30 people will be allowed in each bus per trip in order to maintain social distance. Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa has confirmed that bus fares will not be hiked under any circumstances.

Speaking to the press after holding discussion with regards to the new guidelines, CM Yediyurappa published the details of the new 4.0 lockdown in the state of Karnataka. Public parks will be open from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm. Salons can also be opened. All kinds of roadside vendors and hawkers are also allowed to start their businesses.

"Containment zones will have to mandatorily follow the guidelines. Anyone violating the law will be booked under criminal offence," warned CM Yediyurappa.

The CM also assured that these new guidelines will not be applicable to containment zones. But he promised that the lockdown in such zones will be relaxed in phases depending upon the situation.

There will be compulsory lockdown on Sundays throughout the state. If public does not cooperate with the administration, the lockdown may be reimposed, warned the CM.

What sir, sunday lockdown. ?? We people work from monday to saturday and we usually do shopping on Sundays. Now sunday close means how will we buy required items..please change the guideline and just copy from delhi guideline, there it is well made.

Bus transport, salons to start from May 19, so who is going to Mointor this . Will police be there on each bus stop to check and also about salons whether they are going to sanitize and maintain social distance . And I am not making sense about total lockdown on Sundays so the virus have told our CM that they spread only on other days apart from Sunday. So People should stay home on sunday

now coming about bus stop and saloon it is ur risk and responsibility to see ppl follow and abide by the rules. Before Covid also no police was there to manage at Bus stop or saloon to see how he follows the rule. If you feel it is not sanitizer /risky nobody is forcing you to travel by bus or visit saloon
It is our own life and we have to take care of that and you ant expect Govt to monitor everything for ever

Very true! Biggest mistake was not to ban international flights latest by Jan end!
Considering the very low mortality as compared to even road accidents, which implied our immunity is strong, experts should have an India specific view rather than emulating advanced countries & advised our big bosses accordingly!
Also, if migrants were allowed to go, dingy crowded places like Dharavi, Govandi would not have been in such a precarious condition as they are today!
Moreover, on what basis one could expect following of protocol where people are stuffed 5-6 nos in a 50 sqft room with a general toilet & hardly any water facilities!

All this, seems to have backfired & created a big inferno which again is counterproductive seeing the state of these centers!

Economic conditions have reached rock bottom stage, people hardly have any money for food, forget discretionary expenditure!

No use of writing further....as very few will understand!

Latest news is from tomorrow all public transport, salons etc will remain open! Some doubts!
Who is going to enforce the 30 passenger/bus rule on each stop? Will it be point to point service?
Is it possible to maintain 6 ft distance on a roadside unregulated bus stop, in a dingy overspeeding bus where passengers literally touch/fall on each other while boarding & alighting?
How will bus operators manage costs?
Is roadside vending legal in the first place?

Actually both salons & public transport can be really potential hotspots for CORONA! How will a client know whether the barber/conductor is CORONA -ve, his instruments/brush/blades/tissues do not carry "fomites" (as virus droplets can sustain on objects for long, especially metal & pass on touch infection to client) to get instant infection?
With such potential hotspots open, what is the benefit from lockdown/quarantine etc etc?

In late March we were assured that the virus will disappear with 21 days lockdown, then we were told by banging thalis and lighting diyas it would go away.Scientific knowledge had gone for a toss.The results are for all to see and the future is more bleak.Lockdown for India was the biggest blunder of the century.It has pushed back the country by half a century. It was forgotten that we have immunity unlike many other countries,and the middle class or the poor do not get fat pay cheques for sitting at home. Deaths due to lockdown would not have occurred,and deaths due to Corona would have been much lesser ad comorbidities would have been better treated, if there was no lockdown.

I think there are very intelligent people in GOK administration.
They think Virus along. With its family have a blast outside on Sundays.Other week days they take rest.
Have a close look at the guide lines again.You will know.
Another thing ....
How these people will start inter district trains,ticketing procedures,social distancing in small stations etc etc God only knows ! Maybe some special trains without tracks !
Kannada Channels and these directions go hand in hand !
Think there will be a wrap on the knuckles by the Center soon !!Expect some Z turns !
These whole Directions or Margasuchis is becoming one big JOKE ...

Everyone assuming Vaccine will come by June-2021. But,

- WHO said, NOT Certain Vaccine for SARS-Cov-2 Virus, will be possible to produce. Malaria, HIV, Dengue, Chikangunya & lot of diseases do not have Vaccine. Scientists could not produce vaccine for them.

- If Vaccine is discovered by 2021-June, Manufacturing that & giving that to 7 Billion population of the world will take 10 years.

- Manufacturing will not start with 10 Crore Vaccine per month... It will take time to scale.

- Company Selling Vaccine may charge Rs.10,000/ Vaccine(Assumption), as it holds patent on Vaccine. We have seen how much costly Hepatitis Vaccines are.

- Only after between 7 and 12 years, Patent expires & Generic companies can produce Vaccine. Till that time, Company can charge any amount. If you are NOT ready to pay, it can divert Vaccine to Rich countries, who are ready to pay.

& So many other charges.

As much as possible, Make people to sit in home.

Sunday is non-working day. Travel will be leisure & meeting people. That means spreading virus.

On working days, you can contain the virus as Person will meet same set of people on 6 days (if corona spreads, it will be for one set of people only)
But, on Sunday, he will meet different people on different Sundays & may spread virus.

Virus spreading in Weekdays are managed & contact tracing is easy.
Employee will be in Home or in office. May be in some normally going grocery shop.

Aarogya Setu App in Office (mandatory in private & govt offices) will track your interaction with Colleagues.

But, Sunday - full day is free. It will be meeting lot of people.

Remember, we cannot stop virus, we can only - "FLATTEN THE CURVE". i.e Number of Ventilator in Hospital is More than Number of Covid patients.

Government wants to minimize infections, if any in the society.

"Flattening the curve" is the Mantra.
On Sunday, Travel & going out is leisure travel (mostly). Where as in weekdays, it is for Work.
That is the reason Even in some states, you need to close all shops by 7 PM.

In Mumbai, Corona virus has gone out of Hand. There is shortage of Beds, Ventilators, ICUs, Rooms etc.
Shortage of Doctors & nurses to attend patients. 3 Patients are sharing 1 Bed.

In Italy, doctors need to make decision, who will die & who will get bed. Mumbai is entering into that stage.

Never allow, number of patients to Go above, number of beds available. (Remember, already Non-Covid patients also occupy beds).

There is No Vaccine OR Treatment. Only your body immune system can fight. So, Herd Immunity is only solution. Even Vaccine comes next year(Not Guaranteed), To produce & give vaccine it to everyone in this earth will take 10 years(2030).

"Flatten the curve", keep the curve of number of patients below - Health facilities in our town.

Finally opening up is good step.
But why total lock down on Sundays? Has Corona virus developed any plan to infect people only on Sundays?
I wonder who advises our politicians with 14 hour lock downs, 1 week of total ban or now extensions of the same for next week or a fortnight etc.?
Why not let the malls open with a few shops that never used get many foot falls even before lock downs were announced? It is time D C's convey this information to our CM about their plight too after paying huge rent & investment. Either the state should compensate them their losses or the loan amount installments they might have raised etc. Do we want Coffee Day owner's fate for all of them?

When will govt offices start functioning normally? Most of the Dept. in MCC are closed.There is hardly any staff in govt.offices,RTO is barely functioning, police commissioner's office was barricaded until recently.
