Buses provided by Congress return as Yogi denies permission

New Delhi/Mathura, May 18 (IANS): Around 980 buses have returned to Bharatpur, Alwar and other parts of Rajasthan after UP government did not give permission to enter into the state. The Congress is set to move fresh application and its leaders are scheduled to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

After the UP government said that they did not get the list of the buses from the Congress, the party leaders said they will give the list to the chief minister's office on Monday.

"From last three days, Priyanka Gandhiji has been writing to the UP CM to allow buses in the state, but permission was not granted and after 12 hours the buses had to return," said UP Congress leader and former Union Minister Jitin Prasada.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday had urged the Yogi government to allow the buses to enter the state which have reached the border and are now stranded. She had released a video appeal to the UP Chief Minister.

Around 400 buses had reached Bahaj Goverdhan border and it is said that migrant labourers are in the bus.

Priyanka Gandhi has arranged 500 buses to take migrants from Rajasthan's Alwar and Bharatpur but the Congress says it did not get permission from the UP government to enter the state.

On Saturday, Priyanka Gandhi had written to the chief minister to give permission to ply 1000 buses for the migrants after accident took place in Auriyya where 24 people lost their lives.

Priyanka Gandhi, who is also in charge of party affairs in eastern Uttar Pradesh, said that the Congress will bear the cost of these chartered buses at a time when the migrants are finding it tough to return homes safely.

"Lakhs of workers are trying to get back to their homes while walking from various parts of the country and there are not enough arrangements made for them. We wish to operate 500 buses each from Ghazipur and Noida borders," Priyanka Gandhi said in the letter to Yogi Adityanath.

She asserted that the "nation-builders cannot be left to fend for themselves in such times".

Yogi having accepted the offer, has now backed out when the congress stood by its commitment. Yogi must have thought that none of the transport owners would provide buses to Congress. Its an act of cowardice by Yogi.

When reports last came in, Eventually Yogi has agreed . The Congress with Priyanka leading has already made of fool of themselves in UP. . What is Congress trying to prove in UP? When you really want to help why publicize it? In fact if you really want to publicize stuff and garner points, its not wrong, but do it in places like Maharashtra where Cong is ruling. Show it to all that you can do real work.

Lets be fair guys. Though I feel a bit sad . Congress had it coming. Why interfere in UP? We all know what this Yogi guys is.
Why not try this good work in Maharashtra, where Congress and its allies are ruling, The situation is a bit grim there and people really need support. The likes of RaGa and Co, should be on ground and work and demonstrate to the centre and world . Only then will people take Congress seriously. Video conferencing ,interviews with some ousted leaders , dispatching a fleet of busses can even be done by a foot soldier. Its high time RaGa and team become practical. For sure I will be trolled and abused, but this is the fact.

You are not at all being fair lady. What do you mean 'Congress had it coming?". It's not congress who are the sufferers here, it's the poor migrants, 24 whom already succumbed to the suffering and an attempt to alleviate the suffering has been thwarted by the CM himself and it looks fair to you. Congress had provided 500 buses in BJP ruled state Rajasthan's Alwar, did you or anyone object to it? This country belongs to all of us, doesn't matter if you do GOOD in any state.

Migrants are directionless and fighting for their own survival. Insensitive government and insensitive supporters. None of these supporters have any humanity left in them. They only talk of politics here when our own countrymen are in deep distress.

I feel ashamed that how people of my country can behave like this in the time of misery. It is the duty of each one of us to give a hand of support to the people who are not able even to get one time meal for more than 50 days now.

What Yogi is doing now is against humanity. If he does not like the buses provided by Congress then let him send his own buses. I don't think there is bigger sin than this than depriving people to reach their home in this time of crisis.

When Yogi and his Govt with the Central Govt has provided all the facilities? What was the necessity of Cong providing the busses in the first place ? Congis should realize they have been booted out by the people and are NOT wanted. All this while the 'Gandhi' and their Chelas were inside and suddenly they try to be saviors, This old trick wont work anymore!

Petty politics. Yogi is not bothered about the condition of the migrants. Why did he not arrange the buses to bring the migrants back to the state. When some body is helping them, as a Chief Minister it is his duty to support in the best interest of the people.

I feel the way the Government is acting in this critical time, may lead to civil unrest. Government need to work for the people not against them.

Why should all the parties including Congress should contribute to the fund which may be later used to fight the elections?
