Bengaluru, May 18: The dates for the Karnataka SSLC exams and the pending second PU exam were declared on Monday, May 18.
Minister for primary and secondary education Suresh Kumar said that SSLC exams will be held from June 25 to July 4 while the pending second PU English subject exam will be held on June 18.
He said, “There will be a day’s gap between English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science exams. The exams will be completed in 10 days altogether.
"We will use additional rooms due to the changed situation because of coronavirus pandemic. We will make use of 43,720 classrooms in 2,879 examination centres all over the state. We will take suggestion from health officers and make arrangements for safe social distance between students in the examination hall. All the examination halls will be sanitized and all students will have to wear face mask compulsorily.
"We are also thinking over on when to start LKG, UKG and primary classes. We have instructed school managements not to increase the fee this year. In addition, the government has also instructed administrative committees to reduce fee if possible. Already online classes are being held for college students,” he said.
SSLC exam, that will be taken by around 8.5 lac students across the state was, was scheduled to be held on March 27 but postponed owing to the lockdown. Also, one second PU exam was pending when lockdown was enforced across the country.
Meanwhile, the union government has extended the lockdown till May 31 and has ordered not to open any schools or colleges for the time being.
