M'lore: Valencia Catholic Sabha’s ‘Nage Habba’ Fundraiser Entertains Audience

Mangalore, Jan 17: Harate Malla’s team entertained the audience at the city Town Hall with their jokes, comedy songs, limericks, and mimicry for hours on Sunday January 17.
This was part of the ‘Nage Habba’ organized by the Valencia unit of the Catholic Sabha to establish a scholarship fund for the benefit of meritorious students who are economically backward. The Valencia unit completed its decennial celebrations.
The programme by internationally famed artists Richard Louis, Mysore Anand, Kirloskar Sathya, poet Dundiraj, and Asadulla Beig, was accompaniment by musicians Jeevarathnam on keyboard, Graphite Babu on rhythm pad, and Venkatesh on the Dholak.
The non-stop comedy talk show by Louis, presentation of comic limericks (chutuka), comic songs by Sathya, mimicry by Anand, and Kannada ‘Shayari’ by Beig kept the audience in splits till the end of the show.
The Nage Habba started with the honouring of the performers. Ivan D’Souza, vice-president, District Congress Committee, honoured the artistes.
Dolphy Saldanha, convener of the programme, gave a brief introduction about the artistes.
Joan Goveas, president, Catholic Sabha, Valencia unit, welcomed all and secretary Jessy Baretto proposed the vote of thanks. Raymond D’Cunha compered the programme.
