Arshad Warsi yet to confirm Sanjay Dutt-starrer 'Blockbuster Gang'

Mumbai, May 19 (IANS): The buzz has been rife that the "Munna Bhai" duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi are all set to reunite in a film titled "Blockbuster". However, the films co-producer Sandip Ssingh has set a few records straight.

"Firstly, the name of the film is not ‘Blockbuster'. It is ‘Blockbuster Gang'. I am producing the film along with Sanjay Dutt and Anand Pandit. Baba (Dutt) is also acting in the film. Yes, I desire to cast Arshad Warsi in the film. It would be very interesting to bring Baba and Arshad together, but Arshad has not said yes to the film officially and therefore we are not saying that the cast is confirmed. We will announce that when we have the official confirmation. It will be a multistarrer casting and therefore it is taking time," Ssingh told IANS.

The film will be directed by Ajay Arora and Lovel Arora, with music by Himesh Reshmmaiya. The screenplay and dialogue are by Sajid and Farhad, known for the "Housefull" comedy franchise.

According to Ssingh, the unit has also finished recceing locations in Mauritius and Budapest, but had to put shooting plans on hold due to COVID-19 outbreak.

"We had plans to go on floor from May but now we have to wait for normalcy to return. Even when that happens, we will shoot in Mumbai and Goa. We cannot take the risk. Of course post COVID-19, life will change. The number of people on a film set will be restricted, and we will learn to live with the new system. We will learn to live with the virus," said Ssingh, who has produced films like "Sarbjit", "Bhoomi", "PM Narendra Modi".
