Use BJP posters, but dont reject help for stranded migrants: Priyanka

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS): Amid the political heat over Congress requisitioning buses for the stranded migrant workers, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday attacked the Uttar Pradesh government, accusing it of "crossing all limits" and asking it to put "BJP banners" on the buses, but not reject the help for the migrant workers.

In a series of tweets, Priyanka Gandhi, who is also in-charge of the party's eastern UP, said: "The state government has crossed all the limits. When we got a chance to sideline political differences to help the migrant workers, all kinds of obstacles have been created.

"Yogi Adityanath ji, if you want, then put up BJP banners and posters on the buses, but don't reject our services because three days have been wasted in this political nonsense and in those days, many migrants have lost their lives."

In her tweet, Priyanka Gandhi also tagged a video of Congress workers arguing with the UP police at the state's borders, asking them to allow the buses.

The politics over the buses for stranded migrant workers heated up on Tuesday as the Congress accused the Uttar Pradesh government of not allowing the vehicles arranged by the state party, asserting that around 500 buses were stopped at the UP-Rajasthan border towards Agra.

Priyanka Gandhi's personal aide Sandeep Singh asked the UP government to allow the buses to pass through Noida and Ghaziabad.

Earlier in the day, the UP government asked Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to provide a list of party-organised buses for ferrying migrants to the district magistrates of Ghaziabad and Noida, just as it appeared that the issue was settled.

The UP government then alleged the list submitted by the Congress included registration numbers of cars, scooters and autos.

UP government spokesman Siddhartha Nath Singh said in Lucknow the Congress deserved condemnation for this kind of 'fraud and forgery'. "Congress president Sonia Gandhi should respond to the actions of her children, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi", he added.

Meanwhile, the Congress released the video of buses parked at the state's border near Agra. In the evening, UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu was detained by the state police.

The most inhuman way of suppressing the basic needs of a citizen who is a migrant in another state by the fake Yogi government. Shocking repression which is found during the times of dictators in history. BJP is behaving like a despot drunk with power. The world will judge this Government both at the Centre and the State for playing cheap politics at the cost of the poor women, children and their family. India and the world is ashamed of this sort of governance.

If only Yogi and BJP have an iota of shame, they wouldn't block such humanitarian aid. It is the prime duty of UP Govt. to allocate vehicles for transport of poor migrants. Instead, they are blocking the efforts of Priyanka by giving lame excuses.

She is given a most suitable option to these morons. Use BJP posters, labels, slogans, flags, photographs whatever, but allow the vehicles.

Do they need a worse slap with chappals on their stupid faces?

Another Lie of Vadra Congress got Exposed by UP govt.
Pappi said 1000 busses. It turned out to be 2 wheeler and autos as well. A good number of the busses did not have insurance and fitness certificate or either of them expired. Now she cries foul. Please note that BJP is a Govt elected by majority in UP. Its a wrong playground to re-re-re-launch your political career. Congress is nowhere in UP , you have to walk over the other Non BJP parties first that have a strong hold. They have vowed that they wont ally with Congress in the future. Especially after being trashed to pulp with Cong in alliance last time around.

During calamity, hunger and truma, I think U.P. Govt shouldn't have wasted time in finding micro details.
Should have first allowed them to supply the Vehicles and then everyone would have known what's the reality is!
For there are no Trains, procedural difficulties, distressed and hungry people are walking miles or taking any available mode of transport, may be cursing their oppressors.

    @ Vijay Benedict,

    Politics...politics...Level of insensitivity!

Why can't you bring humanity before the dirty politics? Please understand the sufferings of migrants first. Priyanka has offered that Yogi can put BJP posters and allow the bus to ferry the migrants. Let him do that without delay. People are least interested who will win or loose in UP.

I could not find from the comments even one BJP supporter concerned about the migrants distress. You are also human beings right? Who has filled the poison that overtakes the humanity in you.

It's a question of prestige for BJP as its popularity and vote bank number can decrease considerably due to this humanitarian efforts by congress. So BJP is compelled to do something to portray congress as fraud and forgery at the same time BJP doesn't want to spend money for migrant workers and asking congress to do transportation thinking congress would pick the expenses. BJP is doing double profit here at the expense of lives of poor migrants.
BTW, does BJP has the guts and morality left in them to dare Priyanka Gandhi's challenge????????"

    Humanity at the lowest.

For Yogi, migrants are not important but cheap politics. It is just unimaginable that a head of the state is not worried about the suffering of people and delaying by not allowing the buses.

Priyanka Gandhi is right in offering him to put BJP posters so that the migrants can reach their home. They have done same thing in Karnataka by using party stickers on government food kit and kit from Sudha Murthy.

Stand taken by Priyanka is commendable as migrants distress needs more attention than politics
