Bangkok: Vincy, Abishek, Naiem New Office-bearers of Thai Kannada Balaga

Bangkok, Jan 19: The annual general meeting of Thai Kannada Balaga (TKB) was held at Arya hotel here on Sunday January 17. 

At the meeting, Vincy Daniel Pinto Shamboor, Bantwal was elected as president, Abhishek Rao Surathkal as secretary and Naiem Mohammed Uchila, Udupi as treasurer of the balaga for next two years (2010-2012). The former officer-bearers Ravi M B, Mohan Das, Habibulla Katpady and Vinaya Rai were present on the occasion.

TKB came into existence in 2002 and has successfully completed 8 years. It is a socio-cultural organization to foster the culture of Karnataka, India in Thailand. 

There are about 75 families from Karnataka living all over Thailand. TKB works very hard to bring them together on Ugadi, Diwali, Kannada Rajyotsava and other festivals to promote rich cultural heritage of Karnataka.
