Thiruvananthapuram, May 21 (IANS): The Anchal Police in Kerala on Thursday registered a case of unnatural death of a young homemaker at her house, said a police official.
Anchal is about 70 km from the state capital Thiruvananthapuram.
A 25-year-old woman Uthara was found in an unconscious state in her bedroom at her parents' home near Anchal on May 7.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital and it was found out that she was bitten by a snake.
Her parents were perplexed as a poisonous snake was found in her bedroom but wondered how the snake made its way into the room, as the room was an air conditioned one and all windows were closed.
"We have registered a case of unnatural death and the probe has begun into it, after her parents submitted a complaint," said a police official at the Anchal station on condition of anonymity.
Her father Vijay Senan said Uthara's husband has close connections with those who deal in snakes.
"Her husband has a wide circle of all sorts of friends. We have demanded a probe by the police on the death of my daughter," said Senan.
Her mother Manimeghala expressed surprise that their son-in-law was also sleeping in the bedroom and he never came to know when my daughter shouted for help before falling unconscious.
Her parents suspect foul play as while she was in her husband's home at Adoor on March 2, she was bitten by a snake and after her stay in a hospital, she had reached to take rest at her house at Anchal, when tragedy again struck.
Uthara has a one year old son and her parents also allege lot of jewellery given to her during marriage has also gone missing.
