New Delhi, May 21 (IANS): Even after four months of his appointment as BJP President, J.P. Nadda has not constituted his new team, but now sources have told IANS that Nadda is likely to constitute his team either by the end of this month or by the beginning of June.
Earlier due to elections, and later due to coronavirus pandemic, the organisational changes could not be carried out in the party. But now sources have said, Nadda has begun the exercise of constituting his new team of office bearers by holding consultation with senior party leaders.
Nadda became the BJP President in January this year.
A senior BJP leader said, "There are hundred per cent chances that Nadda will announce his new team either by the end of this month or by the first week of June."
According to sources, his new team may have new faces -- with representation to all sections of society and all the states.
In a circular sent recently to all the states, Nadda had laid emphasis on selecting youths and women and new faces for his new team. He had asked for a list from the states with regard to this.
Sources have also told IANS that his new team may have a mix of some old guards and new faces. Nadda is likely to continue with Bhupendra Yadav as election in-charge of Bihar and Kailash Vijayvargiya will continue with his responsibility in West Bengal.
Nadda is likely to give chances to the new faces to lead the party in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in his new team, sources also said.
It is likely that Nadda may announce his entire team -- secretaries, general secretaries, vice presidents and media in-charges, in one go. New faces may emerge as new general secretaries, but all eyes will be on party's parliamentary board.
After the demise of Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Ananth Kumar, several seats are vacant in parliamentary board. Sources said, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may get entry into the parliamentary board, while some former chief ministers such as Devendra Fadnavis and Dr Raman Singh may also be included in the BJP's highest decision making body.
Sources said after the restrictions were eased in Lockdown-4, Nadda is in top gear, holding regular consultations with senior party leaders for the constitution of his new team which will be announced soon.
