59 more test positive as J&K COVID-19 tally jumps to 1,449


Jammu, May 21 (IANS): Fifty-nine more people tested positive in Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday as the total number of COVID-19 patients rose to 1,449 in the Union Territory.

A statement issued by the information and public relations department said 59 people tested positive today, 8 from Jammu division and 51 in Kashmir division.

During the last 24 hours, two more patients died because of the dreaded virus as the total number of fatalities in J&K rose to 20.

Out of these 20 fatalities, two belonged to Jammu division while 18 belonged to Kashmir division.

So far, 684 people have recovered completely and the number of positive cases is now 745 in J&K out of whom 140 are in Jammu and 605 are in Kashmir division.
