Yogi pays Rs 19.76 lakhs to Rajasthan for Kota students' buses

Lucknow, May 22 (IANS): The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has paid a sum of Rs 19.76 lakhs - the amount of the bill of diesel given by Rajasthan Roadways to UPSRTC Buses at Kota.

The amount has been paid to Rajasthan Roadways by UP State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).

The Congress government in Rajasthan had sent a bill of Rs 36.36 lakh for the buses for sending students from Kota last month.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sent buses to bring back students stranded in Kota during the lockdown and some extra buses had been arranged by the Rajasthan government.

About 12,000 students from UP, studying in Kota for engineering and medical entrance exams, were brought back to the state in the third week of April.

The UP government said it had sent 560 buses to ferry students but as the number of students was more than expected, it requested Rajasthan government to send the remaining students to Fatehpur Sikri and Jhansi on UP-Rajasthan border on their own buses.

As many as 26 migrant labourers had died in Auraiya, 200 kilometres from Lucknow, at around 3.30 am on Saturday. More than 30 were injured in Auraiya as two trucks ferrying migrant labourers collided on the highway.

The Uttar Pradesh government of Chief Minister Yogi was sending bodies of workers killed in Auraiya accident home filled in garbage bags of plastic on ice slabs in open truck. The ice melted. When Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren attacked his Uttar Pradesh for inhuman treatment bodies shifted to ambulance.

Basic human dignity to the dead of migrant worker or children dying lack of 'Oxygen' supplies in government hospital hardly matters in 'Jungle Raj' of Yogis' pradesh.
