COVID-19 patient succumbs, death toll 21 in J&K


Srinagar, May 23 (IANS): A 55-year-old COVID-19 patient succumbed on Saturday in J&K's Srinagar district taking the toll of those killed by the dreaded virus to 21 in the union territory.

Doctors at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Srinagar said a 55-year-old woman belonging to Anantnag district had tested positive for COVID-19 and was being treated for chest infection before her death.

With this the toll of people killed by the pandemic in J&K has risen to 21 out of whom 2 belonged to Jammu division while 19 belonged to the Valley.

So far, 1,489 have tested positive in J&K out of whom 720 have recovered completely.
