12 more corona cases reported in Gurugram


Gurugram, May 23 (IANS): Gurugram on Saturday reported 12 more coronavirus cases in different localities of the city, a senior health official said.

Gurugram Civil Surgeon JS Punia said 4 new patients were reported in Devilal Colony after they came in contact with locality residens who tested positive earlier. One case each was reported from Surat Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Satguru Enclave, Rajendra Park, 8 Biswa area, Sector 37, Khandsa Road and Nayi Basti.

Satguru Enclave, Nayi Basti, and 8 Biswa have reported their first corona cases.

The city now has 262 positive cases, including 108 still admitted in different hospitals. As many as 154 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals.

Gurugram also registered 2 corona deaths in Sector 54 and Rajendra Park area in the last 3 days.

Gurugram leads in corona cases in Haryana, ahead of Faridabad with 195 and Sonepat with 195 cases. Eight districts have cases below 100 and remaining 11 districts have coronavirus cases in single digits.

The minority-dominant Nuh district reported 65 corona cases, with all patients since cured and discharged from hospitals.

Civil Surgeon Rajendra Prasad said that the district is heading for a green zone status as no new case has been reported for the last two weeks.
