Bahrain: 'Aladin' Star Jackie Fernandez Honoured


 Bahrain, Jan 23 (GDN): BAHRAIN's own Bollywood starlet Jackie Fernandez has been honoured after taking the film world by storm.

The former Sacred Heart School student was presented with the Exciting New Face award at Max Stardust Awards 2010 at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

The former Miss Sri Lanka has made a big splash in Bollywood following her debut performance in the Hindi blockbuster Aladin, which is based on the animated Disney classic.

She plays the lead character of Jasmin, alongside megastars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh and Sanjay Dutt.

Other superstars honoured at the annual ceremony, which looks to reward Hindi cinema's brightest talents, included Best Actress Preity Zinta and Best Director Ranjit Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor was presented with the Superstar of Tomorrow award.

Bollywood fanatics will soon be able to see Jackie on the silver screen once more, when she appears alongside Riteish in Jaane Kaha Se Aaye Hai later this year.
