Covid-19 changed Eid rituals: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, May 25 (IANS): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Monday that the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the rituals of Eid celebration.

Recalling previous Eid celebrations, the minister shared a video on his Twitter handle and wrote: "I have a deep association with Eid. On this day, wishing friends a happy Eid by hugging them is every year's ritual, but the rule has changed this time due to Covid-19. Let us take a pledge to strengthen mutual brotherhood and harmony on this occasion."

India celebrated a quiet Eid on Monday amid the novel coronavirus pandemic with closed shopping complexes and movie theatres, not to forget the strict social distancing measures that are in place.
