My statement on Maharashtra was distorted, says Rahul

New Delhi, May 27 (IANS): After creating a political stir by saying his party is not the key player in Maharashtra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has claimed that his statement was "distorted".

In a late Tuesday night tweet along with the video, the former Congress president said "paid media distorts the truth to distract attention from real issues".

"I would like to make a differentiation here. We are supporting the government in Maharashtra, but, we are not the key decision maker in Maharashtra. We are the key decision maker in Punjab we are the key decision maker in Chhattisgarh, in Rajasthan, in Puducherry. So, there is a difference between running a Government and supporting Government," Rahul Gandhi said.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that the Congress is only supporting the Maharashtra government and is not a key decision maker.

He, however, defended the Maharashtra government and said the state is one of the most connected in the country.

"It is going to be one of the most aggressive places where corona is going to act. However, Maharashtra is struggling because of the nature of its connectivity and Maharashtra is one of the most important assets frankly that India has. It is the centre of business.

"So, it requires full support from the Government of India, I fully understand that Maharashtra is fighting a very difficult battle and I appreciate that fact and so many other states and it is important that full support of the Government of India goes to the people of Maharashtra and the Government of Maharashtra," the Congress leader said.

What a pity! You people have still not opened your eyes. Still blindly following the non performers who are Pappus themselves with no direction, accountability and respect. There are many who are paid by BJP to destroy the nation and it's people by fermenting trouble. Please stop this nonsense and particularly at this juncture when the country is going through a difficult stage. Criticism and politics does not serve any purpose. Think about the infections which are spiking every day due to some wrong decisions by the government. Instead offer a helping hand to the poor and stop this dirty politics.

Whenever Rahul speaks or make any statements BJP and supporters become very uncomfortable and starts scribbling non sense without going through what he says. Same thing happened when he cautioned the government of Corona on 12th February. They started mocking him and some of the BJP leaders went on to say that there is no threat to India but Rahul should check himself for Corona. We are paying for their arrogance now.

At one hand they say that BJP gains from Rahul's statements then there is no reason for them to become so uncomfortable. Their comments here shows uneasiness and they are afraid that PM may be exposed further. Top man is already become laughing stock with his senseless decisions putting 1.3 billion people at risk and is not able to cope up with the situation.

Well he just spoke the truth that was always kept hidden all these days. Congress was never the decision makers even when they were in power. It was external agencies and other countries that were pushing them to take decision to undermine this great country. Now the party is in minority status and it is just plain simple that they cannot be decision makers anymore. Every time Pappu Khan opens his mouth the entire country benefits from it. BJP benefits the most. Keep it going RG.

The paid media is behind Rahul Gandhi, they are busy in toppling the state government instead of fighting corona.

When Pheku can become PM why not Rahul?

Rahul can be any time better than Pheku who destroyed Indian economy. He put India to COVID-19 risk because of his extra intelligence which prompted him to delay the screening and lockdown.

People are repenting having given power to the uneducated lot.
