Mangalore: IGP Gopal B Hosur to be First Commissioner of Local Commissionerate

Mangalore, Jan 26: Western range inspector general of police, Gopal B Hosur, who has won laurels for his efficient handling of the law and order situation, has been chosen to head the commissionerate that will come into being in the city on Tuesday January 26.
Home minister, Dr V S Acharya, informed that a decision to this affect had been taken at a meeting held at Bangalore on Monday afternoon. Gopal Hosur, who is backed by the experience of having worked in Bangalore commissionerate, has been chosen for the job because of his past records and capabilities.
The inaugural function of the commissionerate will be held at 4.30 pm at the Police Ground in the city today. Home minister, Dr V S Acharya, district in-charge minister, Krishna Palemar and state director general of police, Ajai Kumar Singh, will be present at the function.
