Mangalore: IGP Gopal B Hosur to be First Commissioner of Local Commissionerate

Mangalore, Jan 26:  Western range inspector general of police, Gopal B Hosur, who has won laurels for his efficient handling of the law and order situation, has been chosen to head the commissionerate that will come into being in the city on Tuesday January 26.

Home minister, Dr V S Acharya, informed that a decision to this affect had been taken at a meeting held at Bangalore on Monday afternoon. Gopal Hosur, who is backed by the experience of having worked in Bangalore commissionerate, has been chosen for the job because of his past records and capabilities.

The inaugural function of the commissionerate will be held at 4.30 pm at the Police Ground in the city today. Home minister, Dr V S Acharya, district in-charge minister, Krishna Palemar and state director general of police, Ajai Kumar Singh, will be present at the function.

    I welcome and commend his elevation. All a law abiding citizen of any religion should expect to be fairly treated and dealt whatever the pulls, pressures and temptation from the political bosses. Given a free hand any policeman for that matter will do a decent and good job. It is the political wrought in our system that defeats our constitution and the rights of our citizens.

    Hearlty congradulations to western IGP Mr.Gopal B Hosur for ing head the commissionerateof Mangalore.He deserves the post because he has been capable in handling law & order.but one thing we have to keep in mind that no one knows when our government will transfer him to other place on the pressure of our dirty politics!!!

    I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Gopal Hasur ever since his posting to Mangalore. During his tenure he has indeed built a wonderful track record. Fearless - as he is - ruthless if need be... deep within he has a kind heart as projected by the police officers working with him. What is more is that he is approachable with any legitimate grievance or a problem and he readily finds a solution. Mr. Hasur - A WARM WELCOME TO YOU.
