Mumbai, May 29: In heartwarming news, a seven-weeks-old boy who was diagnosed with COVID-19 has been discharged after making a recovery on Friday.
The infant was earlier also treated for brain haemorrhage.
“It’s wonderful to see this 2.5-kg COVID-positive child, who was unconscious, critical and on ventilator support just a week ago, and is now fully conscious, playful, feeding well and moving all his limbs normally," said Dr Alok Sharma, who led the complex brain surgery on the infant on May 18.
As per Dr Radha Ghidiyal, head of the paediatric department, the infant is off oxygen support and his post-surgery wounds have healed. She also confirmed that the infant's second COVID-19 test result has become negative and therefore is fit to be discharged.
