Lok Nayak Hospital staffer falls prey to Covid-19


New Delhi, May 30 (IANS): A technical staff working at Delhi's largest Covid-dedicated facility -- Lok Nayak Hospital -- died of coronavirus, the hospital said on Saturday.

"The senior operation theatre technician was due for retirement next month. He died of the infection at around 3 p.m. He had tested positive about 15 days back and was in the ICU," an official told IANS.

Earlier in the day, the medical director of the Lok Nayak Hospital tested positive for coronavirus infection, along with two more staffers.

On May 28, a security guard at Delhi government's Covid-dedicated Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital had died of the infection.

In Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), a mess worker and a staff member have fallen prey to the dreaded virus.

Lok Nayak Hospital, with 2,000 beds, is Delhi government's largest fully Covid dedicated hospital.
