Do not share malicious, unverified content on social media: Kejriwal

New Delhi, May 30 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday urged people to not share malicious and unverified content on social media.

Speaking to the media, he said that it is not a time to do petty politics, urging all to be together in the fight against coronavirus.

"Some people create posts and share videos for petty and dirty politics. A video of dead bodies has been circulated since Saturday morning, claiming that the video is of a Delhi government hospital. It was not of a Delhi government hospital," Kejriwal said.

The Chief Minister also said that a video of low-quality food being served in some government hospital was circulated, claiming that it was of a Delhi government hospital, which is not true.

He lauded the doctors for their unnerving dedication and hard work in these difficult times.

"I want to request the people who are involved in this, the country is going through some very difficult times. We all have to leave politics behind and work for the country together. This is not the time to do dirty politics. I called the officials and authorities after witnessing the kind of food being served in the hospital in the video, it hurts their morale," he added.

Kejriwal said the nurses and doctors of Delhi are working very hard, they are the frontline workers who are the strength behind "our battle against the virus".

"The doctors and nurses are responsible for the low mortality rate in Delhi, but circulating videos like this break their morale and spirit and negate all their hard work. Please do not trust every video that you see on social media because many of the videos turn out to be fake. If any part of any of these videos is found to be true, I assure you that strict action will be taken," he added.
