Jaipur, Jun 1 (IANS): In a good news for corona warriors in Dungarpur town of Rajasthan, 100 coronavirus patients have so far tested negative after treatment and discharged, including 87 who were sent off during the weekend, officials said on Monday.
Officials said that the COVID care centres in Dungarpur had introduced new initiatives for patients on the directions of District Collector Kanaram, including creation of positive environs. Sessions in music, meditation, yoga and aerobics, apart from menu of patients choice, were arranged to this end.
The whole idea was to drive away fears from patients' mind and instil positive wibes. The patients were also given counselling, said Dungarpur Sub-Divisional Officer Suresh Khateek and Sagwaga SDO Rajeev Dwivedi.
Immunity-booster 'kaadha' (traditional decoction) was given to corona patients two time a day for 14 days, the officers added.
Dungarpur is a town connected to Gujarat borders which witnessed over 1.5 lakh migrants passing through it in the last few days.
While 13 cured patients were discharged earlier, another 87 patients were sent home on Saturday and Sunday in Dungarpur.
On Sunday morning, District Collector Kanaram visited COVID Care Centre in Surpur and Sagwada for a send-off to patients by presenting them roses. He also praised the efforts put in by corona warriors.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Mahendra Parmar said that it was a good omen that 100 of the 364 corona patients in the town had been cured. "Our corona warriors worked day and night to help cure these patients," he added.
