New Delhi, June 2 (IANS): One more senior official of the Railway Ministry tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases detected in the national transporter to nine in last two weeks.
Even the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) corporate office at the Pragati Maidan Metro Station complex has been sealed after two officials tested Covid-19 positive on Monday.
According to senior Railway Ministry officials, a senior official, who had visited the office on the fifth floor of the Rail Bhavan last on May 21, tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Following this, the railways traced 12 senior officials who came in contact with him and all have been asked to go on home quarantine, an official said.
This is the ninth case in the Rail Bhvan, which is the headquarters of the Indian Railways.
Following the two officials at DFCIL testing positive, the DFCCIL has asked the staff who came in contact with them to go on home quarantine.
The DFCCIL office will be sanitised before opening on June 5.
