New Delhi, June 2 (IANS): The office of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday said the coronavirus case fatality rate in Delhi is 2.5 per cent as compared to the national average of 2.83 per cent while recovery rate is 46 per cent and the doubling rate 12.8 days.
The Raj Niwas, in a statement said, the tests per million is 11,449 as compared to the national average of 2,838 tests per million.
Baijal on Tuesday chaired a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) with Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister (Health), Minister (Revenue), Chief Secretary, and others.
Baijal reviewed the present health status in respect of COVID-19 in Delhi, status of hospital bed augmentation, ambulances, and other health care facilities.
It was informed that upto June 1, there are a total of 20,834 confirmed cases in Delhi out of which 8,746 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement said.
"It was further informed that Case Fatality Rate in Delhi is 2.5 per cent as compared to the national average of 2.83 per cent,recovery rate is 46 per cent, doubling rate 12.8 days and test per million is 11,449 as compared to the national average of 2,838 tests per million."
At present there are 6,476 hospital beds for covid treatment in Delhi, it added.
"Three more hospitals have been earmarked with additional 1,900 beds for COVID. Another new hospital in Burari with 450 beds is expected to be operational by the second week of June," the statement said.
The L-G was further apprised that various steps are being taken to improve the efficiency of CATS ambulance which includes fleet augmentation, redeployment of ambulances as per call frequency and increasing the number of phone lines by about 33 per cent and setting up of alternate call center with scalable capacity of at least 100 call lines.
