Gurugram reports 132 fresh corona cases; police PRO tests positive

Gurugram, Jun 4 (IANS): The 'millennium city' On Wednesday recorded 132 positive cases with four of them being police personnel, including Gurugram police PRO Subhash Bokan, who is now under home isolation.

Health officials are currently sanitizing the police commissioner office, especially the second floor where Bokan's office is located. He is among the officers who frequently meet police commissioner Mohamad Akil and several DCPs and ACPs in the same building. The police commissioner's office is in the same building.

Dr J.S. Punia, Civil Surgeon of Gurugram, said the total number of cases has reached 1,195.

In view of the rising cases, District Magistrate Amit Khatri has suggested home isolation.

"It has been observed that 80% corona-infected patients may recover from it if they follow necessary guidelines of the health department," Khatri said.

"During home isolation, one should have separate washroom facilities. The patient's activities should be monitored round-the-clock," Khatri pointed out.

"The district administration has already constituted a separate medical team which will call every patient daily and register progress reports. If needed, the team will also visit them for medical assistance," Khatri said.
