Vasco, Jun 4: After a home guard attached to the traffic cell of Vasco police station tested positive on June 2, the entire premise was sanitised.

The home guard reportedly came into contact with the Mangor hill fisherman, who had tested positive for coronavirus, evidently his neighbour. Soon after, he had been to the Vasco police station barracks on Monday.

On hearing news of the home guard testing positive for the virus, the Vasco fire station personnel sanitised the station premises, barracks, office of the traffic cell and police station.

"He is a home guard and usually does not come to the police station. But, on Monday he came and directly went to the barracks to rest. On Tuesday, he tested positive for the virus, after which we decided to sanitise the entire premises," said Vasco traffic cell police inspector Sudesh Narvekar.
