'Global Goans' to Bring Goan Carnival to Dubai on Feb 12

Daijiworld Media Network – Dubai (SP)

Dubai, Feb 1: Global Goans and United Friends are all set to rock Dubai by bringing the Goan Carnival here. The carnival will take place in Astoria Hotel, Banquet Hall, on Thursday February 11, 2010. The people of Dubai would be able to enjoy the authentic Goan Carnival that day. Gates will open at 8.30 pm, and the show will begin at 9 pm sharp.

‘Purple Rain’, a carnival dance band, will be flown in especially for the show. This band has been in its 25th year of service to music, and therefore, it’s going to be a double celebration. The only award-winning and Goa's best DJ Rington (who is presently rocking the only famous disco joint in Goa – Titos in Baga Calangute), will also be flown all the way from Goa along with the band. For the first time, people here would be able to witness in the Carnival Parade, the same concept of famous Fankit, Goa’s float master (his assistant in Dubai), who will create the a festive mood under one roof. So, all the music lovers can expect non stop dancing from 9 pm to 3 am the next day. It will be a great fun with lots of give-aways from different companies and traders, who happen to be the sponsors of the programme.

This is the fourth time that Purple Rain would be coming to Dubai on public demand, and they will be doing everything within their command to perform their best. Special parade brought in by King Momo and Queen Momo will be one of the attractions of the programme.

Interested people can register their names with the organizers for the fancy dress competition and the jive competition, well in advance. The ticket price has been kept at a very reasonable AED 100 per adult, and AED 50 (for children in the age group of 5 -12years). For further information, Remy 050-7454707, Benedict 050-6746091 or Bonny 050-4950619, may be contacted.

Kudos to Purple rain it is definately not an easy task to perform in another country being a success and being so popular and being called by public demand. Truly a lot of effort and planning has been put in I have personally not got a chance to be at the Red and Black Ball, but I have heard from friends and relatives they rush to get tickets every year so that they are not left stranded. I sincerely wish I shall be able to attend the same in the near future and hope lady luck visits me soon with a bag full of money to be able to come over to Dubai for the same. Colleen
