Biggest single day surge in J&K as 285 test Covid positive


Jammu, Jun 5 (IANS): In the biggest single day surge so far, 285 more tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday, taking the total number of Covid-19 patients in the Union Territory to 3,142.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department said that of the new cases, 63 were from Jammu division and 222 in the Kashmir division.

Another patient succumbed on Thursday, taking the number of people killed by the dreaded virus in J&K to 35.

So far, 1,048 patients have completely recovered.

The number of active cases is now 2,059 out of whom 571 are in Jammu division and 1,488 are in Kashmir division.
