In January itself, WHO clearly said the coronavirus spreads from one person to another. It had asked all the countries to refrain from organising large gatherings. Despite such warning, ‘Namaste Trump’ was planned for political gains and permission was also granted by the Gujarat government.
People were asked to stand shoulder to shoulder on the road to greet the leaders. Lakhs of people were brought to the stadium in buses. This triggered spread of the virus. This event was not a mistake, but a criminal negligence. The ‘Namaste Trump’ event was responsible for community transmission of the virus.
All that mumbo jumbo rituals of taali, thaali, diya, mombatti is gone waste. Go-corona-Go is now become India's best going to live longer.

Everybody comparing the Europe and US to India. But in reality we should compare India to china, Bangladesh, Srilanka etc where the demography, living style, temperature and weather same in this part of the world. When we see this way India is failed fighting CORONA and miserably failed addressing our workforce to relocate to giving them help. BJP and Modi Govt. may boast anything but the thing is we look miserable in front of neghours and the pictures we seen, those could not be seen in African countries in recent times

Weldone Rajesh. I wanted to ask why compare India's cases with Italy because both nations have a different populate count.

As compared to the percentage of Italy's cases, India's percentage is peanuts.

We are doing well. Lets us continue our fight against the pandemic.

Also please compare the testing rate of Italy and India.

Per every 1000000 people Italy has done 50000+ tests, where as we have tested 3000+ people only. So if we had done 0 tests we would have got 0 positives and we can declare the country as covid free!!!

    Prashant.

Forget tests - we are relying on 'Jaagate' 'Deepa' and 'Aathma Nirbharata'. India has no capacity to test even 25% of the population. Until recently we had only Wenlock as testing center. Manipal and Muller's got the permission only recently.

Italian people don't have the tan we Indians have because of our exposure to the sun making us abundant in Vit-D. Also, they don't have immunity we got through vaccines we received in childhood. I am not saying we are escaping mass fatality because what the government is doing, our positive cases are emerging cured because of our own immunity. Yes, we will win against this disease, as a personal fight - not according to government's precautionary measures or preparedness.

Shankar, I actually thought you have grown some more brain after so many years in DW forum.
Are you calculating only population? Don't you think when population increases, the human resources also increases proportionally??
BTW, what you think India's stand in Olympics, and other sports? They should be number one or two (depends on China's population) in everything including healthcare facility, technology and other things.

It is just a matter of time. India is going to break all the records. We have to be prepared for the worst. I doubt whether our health care system will be able to cope up with the pandemic in the coming peak days !!! God bless us all.

Italy and other European states temperature is less than 25 degree... that's why covid is spreads fast.....
India and other Asian states covid controlled by high temperature., and high humidity... in India all states temperature is aboue 32 and high humidity... that's the benefit India got...
See now temperature reduced and covid spreading fast in few days it will cross 5 lack....
Because India still not prepared proper health care... money sanctioned .. but not yet released .. Modi is only giving speach on television and diverting the minds of people...... if like this continued within one month the deaths will cross more than 10 thousand..

Why can't compare?? If the population is more, don't you think you also have to have more healthcare personnel, more healthcare facility, more human resources altogether as well.
Italy was caught unaware with Covid compared to India where the first Covid case was on the January 30th and overnight lock down announced on the 24th march with Namaste Trump.
If the lock down was planned (giving ample time for everyone to reach their home? could have resulted in less cases, less pain for every citizen.
Closing the borders took so long time that Tablighi Jamaat happened in Early March which could have been avoided if no one from outside participated in that.
Even yesterday, a MP was blaming them instead of looking at mirror and realising the mistake the government did.
When you have more population, we have also have more resources, so can't complaint about population when failure lead to this numbers. Lock down was very strict in India unlike in western countries.
BTW, India have overtook Italy and this is the most memorable day for all Bhakths and indeed to Sabmit Patra and GowSwamy.

You cannot calculate the numbers per country.
Need to see the percentage of the people is infected, in that line India is doing much better in controlling of spread of Covid 19 comparing other developed nation.

India covid deaths already crossed more than 6000. (Six thousands).. and highest death rate is in gujarath and maharashtra..... gujarath is hiding it covid cases and death rate... and media also not giving information of gujarath and other BJP rulled state .. Shah and Modi only targeting non BJP states......
If media gives proper death rate of BJP rulled stats the death rate is crossed 7000...
And due to poverty .. and hunger and accidential deaths of migrants and poor is are more than 1000....which media is hiding..

    Shivshankar,

How many times you change your name starting from Vishnu........and now to Shivshankar? You need to change the way you write, otherwise people will recognise you easily as a brainwashed communal bhakt.

You should also know that when people comment they don't do it based on religion. You have so much venom in you and that can be felt in your comments.
