Lucknow, June 6 (IANS): Questioning the Rs 20 lakh-crore economic package of the government, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said there was nothing in the package for the poor.
Taking to twitter on Saturday, he wrote, "Can the government inform the people as to what's there for the poor in the so-called 'maha package' of Rs 20 lakh crore? What proportion of it will be given to farmers, daily wagers, migrant labourers, small traders and retail traders? Can the people who are best in dividing the society please tell how this package will be divided among the people who are in need."
In an earlier tweet, he said, "Tragic reports of suicides are coming in, the latest being from Barabanki where a family of five committed suicide. The BJP government is expected to make arrangements for food and livelihood. First and foremost, deaths due to hunger in the state should be stopped."
