M'lore: SAC Commerce Association’s ACME-2010 Inaugurated

Mangalore, Feb 3: The two-day ACME-2010, business fest organized by St Aloysius College Commerce Association was inaugurated at I T Auditorium of the college on Wednesday February 3.
Suresh Bhat, chairman of Software Technological Park in NIT-K inaugurated the ACME-2010.
Speaking on the occasion he said that students need to excel in subjects chosen by thinking out of the box. Various competitions and events based on the subjects propel them to move beyond the text books, thus help them build their future, he said.
Fr Joseph Rodrigues, rector of St Aloysius institutions in his presidential speech said that the institution has nurtured the soul and ignited the minds of students through education. He also said that a businessman should take care of the customers for there is always a danger of commodities being loved and persons used.
The ACME-2010, conducted from last 10 years by the commerce association of the college gives opportunity to its students to explore the realms of the business world by incorporating the events similar to situations that would take place in their professional life.
The ACME-2010 has incorporated theme with business and is a heady cocktail, said Brandon Miranda, secretary of the commerce association during the introductory address adding that the purpose of the fest is to promote team work and creativity as well as provide platform to the students to develop their organizing skills.
The two-day fest has events like `The Suave Financier’ which means finance, `The Agency’ being Human Resorce, Trendsetters which is marketing, Mock stock being `Hemmingway’s Locker’, `The Show Stopper’ being corporate survivor and `Faux Pas’ being crisis.
Prof A M Narahari, registrar of St Aloysius College and Dr Suresh Poojary, dean of Commerce department were present. Veena Kumari, president of commerce association proposed the vote of thanks. Secretary Jane Fiona D’Souza was also present.
