Rajasthan govt interacts with 30 European companies in webinar

Jaipur, Jun 9 (IANS): As businesses across the world are considering to diversify their manufacturing bases from China post the Covid-19 pandemic, the Rajasthan government on Tuesday held a web interaction with representatives of 30 European companies, offering them the best opportunities for making investments.

State Chief Secretary D.B. Gupta and several senior bureaucrats participated in this webinar with ambassadors, diplomats and business representatives from several European countries, and invited them to invest in the state.

Gupta briefed the participants about the opportunities and USPs of Rajasthan as well as the transparent and attractive policy frameworks of incentives and concessions provided by the state.

He also highlighted the advantages of Rajasthan with regard to connectivity, the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, skilled manpower availability, resource advantages as well as infrastructure strength.

Subodh Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), informed the participants that Rajasthan is the first Indian state to allow MSMEs to start ventures without obtaining approvals or clearances.

Raman Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer, EBG Federation, suggested devising a platform for regular interaction with embassies and potential investors while Ashutosh Pednekar, MD, RIICO, said that such interactions should be held regularly. He also mentioned that the positive suggestions received in the webinar would help in giving future direction to the state's efforts.

Business representatives from various countries showcased their strengths in concurrency with the business opportunities present in Rajasthan during the webinar which was organised by Rajasthan Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and European Business Group.

The webinar was attended by representatives of European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) and European Economic Group (EEG).
