Heavy downpour brings down temperature in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 10: The city experienced sudden rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in the morning on Wednesday June 10. There is drizzle and light rain at the moment.

Since the last some days, rainfall used to happen at night. Days used to be hot and sultry.

The welcome rain has brought down temperature, although it also sent people scurrying for cover and played havoc with internet connectivity.

During the previous 24 hours, Panambur received three cm rainfall, the city got two cm while Beltangady, Karwar and several parts in the coast and interior Karnataka got an average of one cm rainfall.

Several parts of Bantwal taluk received good rains on Tuesday morning and afternoon.

The meteorological department has issued yellow alert in the coast on June 11 and orange alert on June 12 and 13 as it expects heavy downpour during this period.
