Rahul questions Modi's silence

New Delhi, Jun 10 (IANS): Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday once again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence over the India-China stand-off. Gandhi has been demanding a statement on the current situation at the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.

"The Chinese have walked in and taken our territory in Ladakh. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is absolutely silent and has vanished from the scene," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

His remarks came a day after he traded barbs with the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

On Monday, Rajnath Singh responded to former Congress chief jibe at Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Wayanad MP on Tuesday questioned the government on Chinese intrusion in India.

"Once RM (Defence Minister) is done commenting on the hand symbol, can he answer: Have the Chinese occupied Indian territory in Ladakh?" Rahul Gandhi questioned in a tweet.

His remarks were in response to Singh's jibe at the Congress after Rahul Gandhi raised questions over the issue of border dispute with China.

"Haath me dard ho to dawa kije, haath hi jab dard ho to kya kije (You apply medicine to the hand when it pains, but what to do when the hand itself is the cause of pain)," Rajnath Singh said in tweet in reply to the Congress leader.

The back and forth between the two parties started on June 3, when Rahul Gandhi questioned the central government over a military stand-off with China in Ladakh. He had tweeted: "Can the government of India please confirm that no Chinese soldiers have entered India?"

India and China have started the process of de-escalation at the Line of Actual Control with withdrawal of troops, guns and combat vehicles from three standoff positions in eastern Ladakh, sources said on Tuesday. India's bone of contention of Chinese troops built up at Finger Four would be resolved eventually, they said.

The withdrawal started happening after India and China's top military-level talks that took place June 6.

Any democratic country should have strong opposition party,& should be transparent. Open press conferences daily by the PM or President. Only then the country can improve for all citizens. Learn from western countries .

    Shenoy,

You hit the nail on the head. When our bhakts will understand? For them their leader is important than the country. Even if he sells the country these people will still do Modi Bajans in the internet.

We have not seen our country in this extraordinary situation. Corona on one side and economy on other side has already put the country in difficult situation. People have lost jobs, many MSMEs on verge of closing, Chinese aggression and Nepal border issues are making the things difficult.

Leader is nowhere to be seen. No dialogues with citizens but busy with planning for elections at Bihar and West Bengal. His priorities include getting the aircraft for self use and palace for staying.
Why ruling party is not thinking to change this passive leader? Don't they have better leaders in the party?

All these statements lays thread bare the deceit filled intentions behind questioning.
Some prople who hide behind the veil of democracy have only the intention of deriding our own country.
Find out one Chinese or Pakistani deriding their own country? They will be hanged or will vanish without a trace.
It is here only that you find such third rate liberals.Misusing liberty.Traitors of the worst kind.

Bhandarkar, In a democracy every citizen, not just opposition party, have the right to know the reality. Questioning the government is the right of every citizen in a democracy.
In every comment you show your intelligence and now this line " Find out one Chinese or Pakistani deriding their own country? They will be hanged or will vanish without a trace."
Firstly even a LKG student knows that China is not a democracy. When you don't know this, how can you call someone else Pappu when you yourself the great Pappu??
Secondly, In Pakistan military have more say than India and if the comment is supporting India, surely they will not tolerate.
Pakistan military is alive because of India, just like BJP is alive because of Pakistan. Here I don't think RaGa was praising or supporting Pakistan or China, do you think so??
It is time for you to read and understand something other than BA syllabus from Nagpur University and MA syllabus from WhatsApp University before commenting.

The Gujarat Model of Devlopment has been a big joke played on our country. Governance has been on Auto pilot mode for the last six years with the result that our country is just drifting aimlessly. We have a PM who has never addressed even one Press Conference for the last six years and silent on all issues facing the nation.

A PM who boasted of a 56 inches chest should have no reservations in doing some plain speaking on all issues to the press instead of hiding behind cameras and Tele Prompters.

The same Deafening Silence on the Border issue with China which the country is anxious to know.
