Over 4 lac corona tests done in Karnataka, recovery rate 44%: Minister Dr K Sudhakar

Bengaluru, Jun 10 (IANS): Karnataka has crossed the mark of testing four lakh people for COVID-19 till Tuesday with a positivity rate of 1.4 per cent and a recovery rate of 44 per cent, said a minister on Wednesday.

"Karnataka crossed 4 lakh tests mark on Tuesday. So far we have tested 4,00,257 samples," said Medical Education Minister K. Sudhakar.

The state could manage to examine so many people by gradually raising its COVID-19 testing labs to 71 across the state. It set a target to raise the labs to 60 by May end and reached the goal early.

For several days, the state tested around 10,000 people on an average which has declined a little in the past few days.

On Tuesday, Karnataka tested 7,036 people. Of these, 6,397 reports returned negative.

The minister said Karnataka has a Covid recovery rate of 44 per cent. "With 2,605 discharges and 5,921 cumulative cases, Karnataka's recovery rate remains healthy at 44 per cent," Sudhakar added.

Currently, the state has 3,248 active cases.

Karnataka No.1 but unfortunately BJP govt doesn't know how to self-market like other parties. Maybe the one reason they don't want to spend taxpayers' money on unnecessary advertisements.

It has become fashionable in India to talk about the recovery rate. Even one loss of life is devastating to the family. The lockdown should have been ordered at this stage and not when we had very few Covid 19 cases cases. Arrangements should have been made to transport all migrant labourers to their states before the lockdown.

Totally Mismanaged with scant regard to Precious Lives.

Where is Modi hiding? After banging vessels and lighting candles what is his strategy to combat this virus. All other sane leaders of the world are giving daily updates with proper statistics where as our leader is relaxing at home . Appearing on TV and over acting only when he wants to suggest some crazy ideas.

Whatever said, this man Dr Sudhakar has turned out to be an asset to our State Operation Specialist Dr Yeddy who is also local Tiger dance expert in politics. Of all the rebels crossed over from CONgress and JDS, Dr Sudhakar shines brightest!
