COVID-19: Tenure of 6 Vice Chancellors extended in Odisha


Bhubaneswar, Jun 10 (IANS): Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, who is also Chancellor of state-run universities, has extended the tenure of vice-chancellors of six universities for three months in view of prevailing COVID-19 situation.

These vice-chancellors include Atanu Kumar Pati (Gangadhar Meher University), Madhumita Das (Fakir Mohan University), Pradeep Kumar Chand (North Odisha University), Soumendra Mohan Patnaik (Utkal University), Amarendra Narayan Mishra (Khallikote University) and Padmaja Mishra (Rama Devi Women's University).

Such extension of tenure is being accorded with a stipulation that no policy decisions shall be made or any recruitment for teaching or non-teaching posts shall be undertaken by the incumbent vice-chancellor concerned without the prior approval of the Chancellor, said a notification.
