Two including one Maharashtra returnee test corona-positive in DK, 22 new cases in Udupi on Jun 11

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 11: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday June 11, reported two fresh coronavirus cases. As many as 22 new cases were detected in Udupi.

In Dakshina Kannada, among the two patients, one male is a Maharashtra returnee aged 33 another is a woman aged 45. The woman has contracted the infection from a person who returned from Mumbai on May 13 and tested positive on June 4. Both of them have been admitted to the designated COVID hospital in the district. Eight patients were discharged on Thursday.

With this, the total tally of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada has risen to 224 (including 10 from other districts), out of which 92 are currently active. As many as 125 patients have recovered and been discharged, and seven have died.

As many as 22 cases were reported in Udupi on Thursday. Twelve male and 10 female including four children tested positive for coronavirus. Among the 22, 20 patients have arrived from Maharashtra, while the source of infection in the remaining patients is yet to be traced. There is one health worker and a group D employee among the 22 people who are tested positive today. 

As many as 91 patients who recovered where discharged on Thursday.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Udupi district are 968 at present, out of which 417 are active, 550 discharged, and one patient has died.

    Make it compulsory to do the Corona Test compulsory BEFORE commencing the journey from Mumbai
