Mangalore: Annual Sports Meet, Play Courts, Inaugurated at Kanachur Institute

Mangalore, Feb 6:
The first annual sports meet and inaugural of the new basketball and skating courts was held at Kanachur Institute of Management and Science in Deralakatte on Saturday February 6.
 
Dr K M Kaveriappa, former vice-chancellor, Mangalore University, was the chief guest who inaugurated the sports meet and the courts.


 
Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports and games are important for students to develop their skills along with studies.

“So, the infrastructure along with the ground makes the life of students better. Education and sports activities should be balanced equally”, he added.
 
Dr M Abdul Rahiman, former vice-chancellor of Kannur University and Calicut University, U K Monu, president, managing committee of  Kanachur Institute of Management and Science,  Abdul Rahiman, trustee, management committee, as well as principals Prof Herald Fernandes and Prof Flora Olinda D’Souza, were also present.
