Bengaluru: Amulya Leona, who raised pro-Pakistan slogan at anti-CAA event granted bail

Bengaluru, Jun 12: Amulya Leona Noronha, who was jailed for over three months on charges of sedition and creating communal disharmony, the 5th ACMM court granted her bail under the default provision CrPC 167(2) on Thursday June 11.

Earlier on Wednesday, Amulya was denied bail by a sessions court saying that ‘she may abscond and involve herself in similar offences’.

A student of journalism and English at a Bengaluru college, has been accused of sedition after she was caught saying 'Pakistan Zindabad' in front of people who had gathered to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in city's Freedom Park area on February 20.

The police had booked Amulya under charges of sedition and promoting enmity between groups, although her friends claimed she was trying to convey a message of universal humanity by chanting zindabad in the name of all nations, including Pakistan and India.

Amulya is expected to walk out of Parappana Agrahara jail after the release order is passed on Friday, June 12.

Amulya!! Released..She paid heavy price for making a silly mistake of starting her speech wrong way, she wanted to tell some good things about" Real Love and Fake nationalism". Anyway I hope she learnt her lesson already!!

Life teaches us so many lessons, but hate will not solve any issues.

We wish her all the best and may the Gods Spirit guide her in right path. We expect her to continue her voice and fighting spirit against the oppressed and poor and marginalized groups without any hatred!!! let her change her style and Language in communicating with the people.

I do not know the circumstances on which she raised such slogans but the days she spent in Jail will surely should make her reflect on what happened . If you see her Facebook page ( posted prior to this speech) she said, Hindustan Zindabad, Pakistan Zindabad, Bangladesh Zindabad, Shrilanka Zindabad, Nepal Zindabad, Afganistan Zindabad, China Zindabad, Butan zindabad. This is posted on 16 Feb 2020 just a week before the incident.

People did not allow her to complete her sentence, they should have allowed to complete her sentence.

Finally in this country we can kill people, lynch people, give hate speech and if you are part of ruling party , no one can touch you. If you happens to be in opposition, even for helping poor migrant workers you will be arrested.

You have so much bitterness in the word Secular that you even cannot spell it properly. Being secular is the way of life in India and Indians are proud of it. Only anti-nationals don't want India to be secular.

This only said Zindabad to our enemy country and arrested. But there were BD/Rama Sena/ VHP people who hoisted Pakistan Flag to incite communal violence. They are more dangerous than this girl because they are anti-national in two counts:

1. They hoisted the flag of enemy country in India in place of our national flag.
2. They tried to incite communal violence between Indian Citizens.

She would use her brain if it is in order. All that she did was she didn't use her brain but did what someone else prompted her. I think she was paid to say so by some unseen hands so as to create inconvenience to some outfits who organized the stage programme.
