New Delhi, Jun 12 (IANS): In an interim arrangement, the Jammu & Kashmir Bhawan here has been apportioned between Ladakh and J&K after the two Union territories came into existence since the division of the erstwhile state last year following the revocation of Article 370.
A Home Ministry letter to the Jammu & Kashmir Chief Secretary said "The main entrance from Kautilya Marg of Jammu & Kashmir Bhawan to be given to UT of Ladakh, along with adjacent block A, old block B, 16 type B staff quarters, and 8 type C staff quarters.
"The second entrance will remain with UT of Jammu & Kashmir along with adjacent new block B, block C and 10 type A staff quarters," said the letter sent by Beena Yadav, Director (Ladakh) in the Home Ministry.
The new territory of Ladakh came into existence on October 31, 2019 through the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act and since then an advisory committee is working for the apportioning the assets between the two UTs.
